KRINZINGER SCHOTTENFELD GARAGE
On the occasion of the catalog presentation Krinzinger Schottenfeld shows new works by Christian Eisenberger.
The form of wrapping serves in the animal kingdom to preserve the prey, as well as the “nesting” , that is, to create the offspring a spun home. Mummies are sufficiently known, from this the logical connection of the tape figure and the aluminum figure. So ON OFF. State of aggregation unknown. The photo works, which are pasted with real spider webs were virtually unmasked, so the trap is omitted, has gone on the glue and thus become the object of view, the retina has to do …! Camouflage and deceive.
The studio is also a trap that you try to escape, failure pre-programmed …, hidden object of excess, target unknown, launch rate unknown.
The “Adventure – Picture” escaped the studio and was maltreated on excursions for a year, thus also withdrawn from the context of the art world and its excessive protection.
The double heads generated themselves, the less one intervenes the better.

Christian Eisenberger’s (born 1978 in Semriach, Styria) stylistically and quantitatively rich oeuvre resists precise categorization. His work has always oscillated between obsessive compulsion and absolute freedom. Eisenberger does not deprive his art of aesthetic pretensions, which is why it speaks directly to the viewer. At the same time, however, many of his works pose existential questions immanent to humanity alongside this aestheticization. Christian Eisenberger’s works often have a strong reference to nature, whereby nature, which must follow its own physical laws without choice, is juxtaposed with human existence as a corrective.
Initially, Christian Eisenberger studied painting at the Ortweinschule in Graz from 1999 and then Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the class of Brigitte Kowanz from 2000. He lives and works in Vienna.
Major solo exhibitions of Eisenberger’s work have been held at the following institutions: Kunsthalle Gießen, Germany, Künstlerhaus Graz, Austria, Künstlerhaus Vienna, Austria, Kunsthalle Krems, Austria. Moreover, his works have been shown in group exhibitions at Ostlicht, Vienna, Austria, Kunsthaus Graz, Austria, Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany, MUSA, Vienna, Austria, Kunsthalle Vienna, Austria, Museum Tinguely, Basel, Switzerland, Mumok, Vienna, Austria, Leopold Museum, Vienna, Austria, Lentos Linz, Austria, among others. In 2013, at the invitation of Galerie Krinzinger, Christian Eisenberger participated in the artist in residence program of the One World Foundation in Ahungalla, Sri Lanka. In 2014, works by Eisenberger were shown for the first time in a solo exhibition at Galerie Krinzinger and most recently, in 2020, in the exhibition “SEE YOU DEEP 9975 – 15432 – 32718”. In 2016, Christian Eisenberger received the Hilde Goldschmidt Prize.
